Last weekend we headed to Durham to visit my family and then on to Fayetteville to visit some of Davids family. It was jam packed but so fun! Micah loves her family and had a great time. Micah still has three living great grandparents, so we try to see them as often as possible. I still have such sweet memories of my great grandmothers so I love that Micah gets to see hers.

Micah got to see her three great grandmothers all in the same day! Pretty special. She also got to hang out with her great aunt Ann and cousin Hannah.

My grandmother gave Micah this adorable red rocking chair that she’s had for years. Micah loves to sit and read in it. So sweet

Ann had a dog that Micah loved

Micah kissing her papa. She is crazy about my dad. It’s the cutest thing. She can’t say grandpa so she calls him Papa
In other news, today marks 31 weeks and apparently little man is the size of a pineapple. The fruit/veggie comparisons always crack me up! Getting close! Life is about to get insane. We have so much coming up, including two beach trips, an Atlanta trip, and another Durham trip. Phew I’m tired just thinking about it.
I’ve also got a few little house projects that I’ve been working on before little man arrives. We have to finish the nursery and playroom!

Priming and painting our kitchen table and some random furniture for the nursery and playroom. I still need to do Micah’s dresser. It needs a facelift!

Monday my sister and I drove down to Charleston to get away for the day. It was perfect weather and we had so much fun (with the exception of a poop disaster, which is much, much worse at a public beach and once its been sitting in water :/). Micah hadn’t been to the beach since last summer, and she loved it! She had so much fun running around, chasing seagulls, eating sand, and playing in the water.

And here’s my crazy girl eating sand

Ok seriously, how is it that I’m already in my third trimester??? I was 29 weeks on Thursday. Just crazy. Things are still going pretty well. I’m feeling great, just large, although I’m gonna be honest, I’m looking forward to having my body back one of these days. I’ve been pregnant and/or nursing for almost 2.5 years now! Granted I’ll hopefully be nursing, but I am excited to be able to do things like play volleyball and sleep on my stomach again. And I’m definitely noticing weight in areas that I didn’t get last time around!
I recently switched practices and am now seeing 4 different midwives at Charlotte OB/GYN, which I’m really excited about. They are really naturally minded, which I love and the hospital has a great new “family birthing suite” that is for unmedicated births, complete with a big tub and a queen size bed! I’ve seen two of the four midwives so far and have loved both of them and felt like they really have taken time to just chat with me and answer any questions I have. I definitely had a hard time coming from such personal prenatal care last time with a midwife at the birthing center that we used, and this new practice feels much more like that. All the nurses have been so sweet and everyone is great with Micah and welcomes her at all appointments, which is so nice. I feel really at peace with this decision, since switching practices and am hoping that maybe this birth goes a little more according to “plan”. Although you just never know with labor and birth!

Micah pointing to “Mama’s baby”
Micah is really starting to show a lot of interest in babies lately, which I think is just the Lord, honestly. She is loving all of her baby dolls and anytime we see a baby or even just a stroller, she points and says baby over and over. It will still be a different experience when we have a new baby in the house who’s taking up our attention and nursing and crying, but I think Micah is going to be a great big sister. We just keep trying to talk about her baby brother and how she’s going to love him and give him lots of hugs and kisses. So we’ll see!

We went to Pottery Barn Kids the other day and Micah pushed this baby around in the stroller the entire time. She kept taking her out and hugging her and putting her back in. It was so sweet.
We’re also in the slow process of cleaning out rooms and trying to make our old office into Micah and her brothers new nursery. It’s a large room so the (possibly naive) plan is to have them share a room eventually, once he’s out of our room and to turn Micah’s current room into a playroom/guest bedroom. So we’ll see how that goes! We’ve set a goal of having everything finished by June 1, so we’ve got to get going! We already bought 2 Ikea cribs, paint, and a ceiling fan, now we just need to actually paint and assemble everything! It’s amazing how much more difficult it is to get things done with a crazy toddler running around. Luckily she’s still usually taking 2 naps a day so I do have some time to work on the new room.
We’re also trying to plan some fun stuff for these last few weeks. Gosh it seems so crazy that I have at most 12 weeks to go. My sister’s coming in town and we’re taking Micah on a day trip to the beach today and then the first of May Micah and I will be doing a girls trip to the beach with lots of other mamas and babies. It will be crazy, but so fun! Plus David and I really want to take a little family trip with just the three of us before baby boy joins and makes 4. :)

Ok so 18 months sounds really old for some reason. Micah is starting to really seem like a big girl lately. It’s making me want to freak out a little. She is talking up a storm and so stinking smart and funny. She’s also more challenging than she’s ever been before. Her current favorite word is no, well that and her name, which she’s just recently learned. She walks around saying, “Micah, Micah” and sometimes “Mi-Mi” and sometimes “Meeka”. It’s pretty funny. She is a little parrot, copying everything that we say.
She’s honestly the most fun that she’s ever been and yet the most challenging that she’s ever been. Good thing she’s cute! :)

Kids don’t need toys…

crazy girl wanted to wear her shorts over her pjs and her sunglasses

At her first Easter egg hunt
Daddy had Good Friday off so we played at Discovery Place all morning!

Still working on the potty training..although I’m not very consistent. She can never pull her pants or skirt up over that booty!
